Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced Credentialing Specialist to support physician privileging and medical staff processes. You will work with the Medical Staff and hospital personnel to ensure compliance with bylaws, perform credentialing duties, and manage related databases.

The role requires 2+ years in healthcare administration, proficiency in credentialing software and Microsoft Office, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ administrative support experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of Credentialing Software, Word, Windows, and database management.
• Knowledge of Bylaws, Rules and Regulations in medical staff context.
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
• Customer service and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collects and verifies information required when physicians request additional privileges within approved criteria.
• Maintains knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
• Serves as a resource to Medical Staff and hospital personnel on Bylaws issues.
• Documents competency to assure criteria are met and drafts criteria when none exist.
• Monitors and updates Medical Staff database and distributes updates monthly.
• Coordinates the appointment, reappointment, and privileging process for AdventHealth promptly and accurately.
• Authorizes access to the hospital's computerized services.
• Acts as a liaison between medical staff officers and the medical staff, researching issues.
