Qualifications

Hartford HealthCare is actively looking for a Medical Staff Coordinator to join their dynamic team in the Medical Staff Office in Meriden, CT.

Reporting to the Director of Medical Staff Services (MSS), the Medical Staff Coordinator performs functions related to credentialing and privileging of practitioners, ensuring compliance with HHC policies, TJC, CMS, and DPH standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the initial application process, evaluate applications, verify information, and prepare files for review. Make recommendations and coordinate approvals for temporary privileges.
  • Initiate onboarding for Medical/Allied Health Staff, prepare bios for MEC.
  • Handle reappointments, verify credentials, and ensure providers meet qualifications.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, assist in accreditation preparations.
  • Verify expirables such as licenses, DEA, malpractice insurance, and certifications.
  • Assist with FPPE and OPPE processes.
  • Maintain confidential medical staff files and update data accurately in ECHO.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in hospital medical staff services or related fields
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) through NAMSS required; certification must be obtained within 1 year if not already certified
  • Flexible schedule for early morning or evening meetings

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and state, federal, and accreditation standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
