Job summary

Cohesive Components is seeking a Solutions Engineer focused on the medical market to design and propose material and process solutions for new and existing programs. You will work with outside sales, estimators, and customers to translate design requirements into manufacturable solutions.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, CAD experience (SolidWorks/Solid Edge), ERP familiarity (Epicor), and strong problem solving. Occasional travel to customers and suppliers is expected as programs scale.

Qualifications

• Must have a BS degree in Engineering
• Experience interacting with OEM customers and building relationships
• Experience reviewing and creating technical drawings in CAD software preferably SolidWorks or Solid Edge
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Experience with ERP systems, Epicor preferred

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Outside Sales, Customers, and Estimators to understand requirements for new opportunities and provide solutions related to materials, process, and product design
• Specify materials to be sourced per print specifications, application requirements, or physical samples and leverage material equivalents and alternatives
• Create or modify 2D/3D models in Solid Edge/Solid Works to provide solutions to customers and win opportunities
• Work cross-functionally to facilitate solution development and drive cost out of products and processes
• Become the subject matter expert of unique Sur-Seal materials to assist estimators/sales in new opportunities
• Work with key suppliers to understand relevant product lines and new technology being offered that will create new opportunities with customers
• Plan and execute “Lunch and Learns” for key customers to drive new opportunities
• Provide technical solutions to help solve external and internal customer pain points in design, quality, and production
• Prepare and review prototypes prior to sending them to customers
• Work on multiple projects and solutions engineering requests simultaneously
• Must be willing to travel to customers/suppliers
• Complete all other duties as assigned by management
