Job summary

Redlands Community Hospital is seeking a licensed or soon-to-be-licensed social worker to provide social case work services to patients and families. You will collaborate with the medical team to address social and emotional challenges that affect care decisions and patient outcomes.

The role requires a Master’s in Social Work and provides opportunities for crisis intervention, counseling, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work required.
• A minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and counseling when emotional reaction to trauma and loss affects decision-making.
• Interpret patient’s social and emotional problems to the attending physician and other professionals to integrate social work into patient care.
• Perform duties such as abuse reporting, resource referrals, statistics, conferences, in-services and consultations.

Job description

Hourly pay range: $32.42 min. - $47.01 max

Reporting to the Director of Social Services, this position provides social case work services to patients and their families when social and emotional problems interfere with "patients receiving maximum benefits," from their medical care. Crisis intervention and counseling are provided when emotional reaction to trauma and sudden loss inhibit family and significant others from successfully participating in appropriate decision-making on behalf of the patient and family. The social worker interprets patient’s social and emotional problems to the attending physician and other professional personnel engaging in serving patients and plans jointly with them so that social work services will be an integrated part of patient care. Related duties include abuse reporting, resource referrals, statistics, conferences, in-services, and consultation.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

1. Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work required.
2. A minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

1. LCSW preferred.
2. Current CPR Certification required.
3. For licensed clinical social worker, a 5150-certification preferred within 1 year of hire.
