Job summary

Job Summary

Reports to an assigned Licensed Certified Social Worker. Assesses client needs and provides counseling or referrals to appropriate community service agencies. May be assigned to a specific clinical specialty and contribute to the development of new social work services and improvements in health care delivery systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the needs and problems of clients and hospital or clinic patients
  • Interview clients, hospital patients, or clinic patients to obtain information
  • Provide counseling to patients and families
  • Consult with other professionals regarding client recovery, welfare, or rehabilitation
  • Initiate and complete timely discharge planning
  • Provide information and referral services
  • Participate in conferences, meetings, and staff development sessions
  • Maintain required records and statistics
  • Contribute to research projects and community meetings aimed at improving health care services
  • Perform related duties as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of social work theories, principles, and concepts acquired through a master’s degree in social work and less than six months of experience
  • Current state licensure as an LMSW
  • Ability to analyze and resolve basic problems using scientific, mathematical, or technical principles
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy in difficult interpersonal situations

Salary Range: Minimum 32.40/hour - Maximum 53.48/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
