Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Social Worker for a travel assignment in Fairfield, CA. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop plans of care for patients needing social work support, delivering medically necessary interventions as directed by physicians.

Requirements include a BSW or MSW, at least one year in healthcare social work, and current CPR and health clearance.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Social Work (BSW) or Master’s degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education per state/client requirements
• Minimum of one (1) year of social work experience in a health care environment
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provides medically necessary intervention to patients with social or emotional problems that may impede treatment or recovery
• Follows physician’s orders in delivering social work services

The Medical Social Worker collaborates with themultidisciplinary team to provide input in the development of the plan of carefor those patients requiring social work intervention. The Medical Social Worker provides medicallynecessary intervention to patients who have social or emotional problems thatare, or are expected to be, impediment(s) to the effective treatment of themedical condition and/or rate of recovery.Additionally, the Medical Social Worker provides these services inaccordance with physician’s orders.

Minimum Requirements
