Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute Career Center in Northwest Indiana seeks a dedicated medical secretary to support doctors and staff in delivering exceptional musculoskeletal care. You will answer calls, register patients, verify insurance, triage concerns, and schedule appointments within a busy clinic environment.
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least 1 year of medical practice or orthopedic clinic experience, and familiarity with MS Office and Outlook.

A high level of emotional intelligence and ability to thrive in a busy environment is essential in this role. The medical secretary will work for a specific doctor(s) to answer phone calls and schedule patient appointments. They make work in tandem with a physician assistant, nurse, medical assistant, and other ancillary staff.
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Minimum of 1-year medical practice and/or orthopedic clinic experience. Healthcare related background including medical terminology.; experienced in common office hardware and software including MS Office and Outlook
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods, work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, and to work both day/evening shifts. Work may hand dexterity as well as the need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent personal and telephone contact with patients and with testing sites and surgery departments. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Contact involves dealing with injured sick people.
