Job Title: Medical Scribe at Riverside Women's Care

General Summary: The Scribe will accompany physicians throughout their workday, documenting patient encounters in real-time using the electronic health record (EHR) system and established templates.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the mission, purpose, and objectives of Novant Health.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Familiarize yourself with compliance responsibilities, following relevant laws and corporate policies, and report any compliance issues promptly.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of medical documentation.
  • Organize and manage medical documents within the EHR system.
  • Create referral letters for physicians.
  • Assist physicians with electronic prescribing.
  • Support other office functions as needed.

Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a medical office assistant or medical assisting program preferred.

Certifications: CMA and CPR certifications required.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a physician practice setting.

Performance Requirements:

  • Understanding of electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Knowledge of the referral process.
  • Understanding of electronic prescribing.
