Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
• Previous experience as transcriptionist or scribe preferred.
• Associates degree or some college-level education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accompany physician during patient examination to transcribe in EMR.
• Transcribe dictation for medical reports including histories, exams, ER visits, operations, or discharge summaries.
• Review and edit reports for spelling, grammar, and terminology.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor.
