Job summary

Astrana Health Management is seeking a Medical Scribe / Clinical Assistant for our Cardiology team in San Gabriel, CA. This in-office role supports providers with documentation, patient care coordination and efficient clinic operations.

You will transcribe notes into the EHR, enter orders, and document care while upholding HIPAA regulations and high standards of patient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient understanding of medical terminology, CPT and ICD coding, HIPAA laws/ regulations, human anatomy/physiology.
• Strong keyboard skills (60+ WPM) and EMR competence.
• Excellent multitasking, organization and time management.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Observe patient-physician interactions and accurately transcribe patient notes into the patient's electronic health record.
• Enter ICD codes, write orders or referrals on behalf of the licensed healthcare provider.
• Document care provided, tests ordered, prescriptions issued, care plan.
• Adhere to HIPAA laws.

Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 / hour

About the Role
The Medical Scribe / Clinical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting providers and delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position combines clinical documentation, patient care support, and administrative coordination to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care.

What You'll Do

• Exhibits behavior and communication skills supportive of Astrana Health’s mission, values, and commitment to outstanding service, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Observe patient-physician interactions and accurately transcribe patient notes into each patient’s electronic health record
• Enter ICD codes, write orders or referrals on behalf of the licensed healthcare provider
• Document care provided, tests ordered, prescriptions issued, care plan
• Adhere to HIPAA laws

You’ll be great for this role if you have:

• At least 1 year of scribing experience
• Completion of a medical scribe certificate
• Experience with transcription
• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications

• High school diploma

• Strong computer keyboard skills (60+ WPM)
• EMR competence

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions

• This position is located in-office. Cross-coverage across Monterey Park, City of Industry, Arcadia, and El Monte.
• The target pay range for this role is $21-$25/hr. This salary range represents our national target range for this role.
