Job summary

Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists (PNS) is seeking a motivated Medical Scribe to document patient histories while accompanying physicians through consultations in a fast-paced mental health setting.

The role requires independence under limited supervision, strong documentation skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. In-office schedule is Monday through Thursday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1–2 years current medical scribe experience (preferred).
• Preferred knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (ECW knowledge preferred).
• Requires clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Requires exceptional telephone etiquette and professional interaction with patients, physicians, and staff members.
• Requires the ability to be detail oriented.
• Proficient typing skills.
• Exhibit excellent listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Document the patient history, including a review of systems, past medical history, family and social histories, medications, and allergies.
• Ensure that all documentation is adequately transposed into the patient’s chart and ready for the Physician’s review at all times.
• Obtain medical records and prepare the patient’s chart for all new patient consultations, add-ons, and scheduled follow-ups.
• Accompany the physician during the whole duration of the patient consultation.
• Scanning of all documentation into the patient’s chart, as needed.
• Work synergistically with the Medical Assistant’s to ensure optimal patient care.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and like-minded Medical Scribe with clear goals of advancing our culture in the fast-paced and exciting field of mental health! The Medical Scribe is responsible for documenting patient history while accompanying the physician during the duration of the patient consultation. This employee must be able to work independently under limited supervision and perform advanced administrative/clerical functions.
