Job summary

Southeast Orthopedic Specialists in Northeast Florida is seeking a detail-driven Medical Scribe to support providers by documenting patient encounters in real time and entering histories, exams, results and treatment plans into the EHR. You will assist with labs and radiology reports, maintain HIPAA standards, and help train other scribes in a fast-paced orthopedic clinic.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant/Scribe program or 1 year orthopedic scribe experience
• CNA or healthcare certification encouraged
• 2 years of healthcare or back-office experience, orthopedic a plus

• Enter history, exams, results, treatment plans and prescriptions into the EHR
• Assist with labs, radiology reports, and provider orders

GENERAL SUMMARY

• Accurately document patient visits in real time

• Support seamless patient care while maintaining HIPAA standards

Essential Functions

• Accurately chart patient encounters: history, exams, diagnostics, labs, treatment plans, prescriptions, and discharge instructions.
• Interact professionally with patients, providers, and team members.
• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and HOPCo policies.
• Support patient care and care coordination as needed.
• Assist with training and mentoring other scribes and staff.
• Demonstrate ongoing competency and commitment to excellence.

Requirements

• Completion of a Medical Assistant/Scribe program or 1 year orthopedic scribe experience
• CNA, Pre-Med students or equivalent healthcare certification are encouraged to apply.
• 2 years of healthcare or back-office experience (orthopedics a plus!)
• Tech-savvy, detail-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic.
