Job summary

Southeast Orthopedic Specialists in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a detailed, tech-savvy Medical Scribe to support our orthopedic team. This part-time role focuses on documenting visits in real time and handling EHR entries to allow providers to spend more time with patients.

You will enter history, exams, results, treatment plans and prescriptions, assist with labs and radiology, and uphold HIPAA and HOPCo policies in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant/Scribe program or 1 year orthopedic scribe experience.
• CNA, Pre-Med students or equivalent healthcare certification are encouraged to apply.
• 2 years of healthcare or back-office experience (orthopedics a plus!)
• Tech-savvy, detail-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient visits in real time
• Enter history, exams, results, treatment plans & prescriptions into the EHR
• Assist with labs, radiology reports, and provider orders
• Support seamless patient care while maintaining HIPAA standards
• Accurately chart patient encounters: history, exams, diagnostics, labs, treatment plans, prescriptions, and discharge instructions.
• Interact professionally with patients, providers, and team members.
• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and HOPCo policies.
• Support patient care and care coordination as needed.
• Assist with training and mentoring other scribes and staff.
• Demonstrate ongoing competency and commitment to excellence.
