Job Overview

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.

Responsibilities

1. Assist qualified donors in completing screening processes, including health history assessment, medical questions, and health screening procedures (blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature, finger stick for hematocrit and protein levels).
2. Educate new donors about plasma products, screening, appointment system, donation fees, policies, nutrition, and address questions professionally.
3. Register and transfer donors upon training completion and operational needs.
4. Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
5. Monitor donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff if needed.
6. Report donor flow issues to supervisors.
7. Accurately record donor data in electronic systems as per SOPs.
8. Understand policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
9. Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available.
10. Follow HSE and OSHA policies, promote safety, and maintain confidentiality.
11. Cross-train in other areas as needed and utilize bilingual skills if required.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 months experience in clerical or customer service roles, preferably in healthcare.
• Basic math skills.

Working Conditions

• Follow instructions and guidelines.
• Ability to see, speak with customers, and observe equipment.
• Stand and walk frequently; lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to hazards and bloodborne pathogens.
• Wear PPE as required and work overtime if necessary.
