Job summary

PTC Therapeutics, Inc is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to operate field-based within Medical Affairs, building long‑term relationships with clinicians and KOLs across hospitals and academic centers.

As the clinical expert, you will deliver scientific product discussions, support education programs, and provide market insights while complying with regulatory SOPs and company policies.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific degree with a minimum of 2 years as MSL.
• Experience supporting an orphan product and/or rare diseases (Phenylketonuria preferred).
• Experience coordinating with KOLs, clinicians, payors and academic institutions to establish scientific credibility.
• Ability to interpret scientific data and present to scientists and HCPs.

Responsibilities

• Attends national and regional medical meetings and symposia as a representative of PTC; gathers information, summarizes findings, and cultivates professional relationships.
• Delivers fair-balanced clinical and scientific presentations to HCPs, payors, patient organizations in response to unsolicited information requests.
• Identifies speakers for advisory boards, symposia, and educational programs with regulatory approved materials.
• Supports regional medical initiatives such as advisory boards as needed.
• Provides input to management regarding competitive therapies, business development opportunities/risks, and market insights.
• Maintains relationships with health authorities, KOLs, HCPs, payors, and academic institutions.
• Facilitates submission of unrestricted educational grants or research initiative requests per policy.
• Maintains awareness of medical/regulatory issues and SOPs relevant to PTC therapeutic areas.
• Keeps updated on competitor information and communicates insights to internal stakeholders.

Education

Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DNP, MSN, MS, Registered Dietician, or Genetic Counselor) with a minimum of 2 years of experience as Medical Science liaison
