Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Cardiometabolic Charleston, WV - Remote

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role is a field-based, customer-facing, non-promotional medical and scientific position. The MSL’s key objective is to impact clinical practice within the assigned territory to improve patient outcomes. The MSL must demonstrate deep therapeutic expertise, understand territory and market influences, engage scientifically with Healthcare Providers (HCPs) and medical experts, manage and develop their territory, and execute activities aligned with the medical strategic and tactical plan, all while adhering to Novartis policies and ethical standards. The MSL will inform and shape medical strategy by collecting impactful insights and understanding their strategic potential.

This territory covers West Virginia. The preferred locations for candidates are Charleston, Morgantown, WV, or Lexington, KY. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the territory border; relocation is not provided.

Role Responsibilities include:

• Establish and build professional relationships with HCPs and thought leaders, engaging in data discussions, clinical trial activities, and education on disease states and products.
• Identify key stakeholders and opportunities for partnerships with academic centers and healthcare systems to drive impact.
• Support clinical trials and collaborate cross-functionally within Novartis.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of therapeutic areas and internal policies.
• Complete administrative tasks timely, including CRM updates.
• Proactively develop professionally and adapt to evolving territory needs.

The pay range at start is approximately $166,400 - $249,600 for Managers and $183,200 - $274,800 for ADs, with potential additional bonuses and benefits. Final salary depends on experience, location, and other factors.

Qualifications:

• Graduate degree in science or healthcare; doctoral degree preferred.
• For Manager: 0-3 years in medical roles or 3-5 years relevant experience; for AD: 3+ years in medical roles or 5-7 years relevant experience.
• Strong clinical knowledge, regulatory compliance, and field-based experience required.
• Reside within or near the specified territory; approximately 60-70% travel expected.
