Job summary

Syneos Health is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Chicago, IL to provide fair, balanced scientific information to Key Contacts and to educate on product-related science. You will work with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with field Medical and Commercial teams to advance scientific exchange.

The role requires an advanced degree (PharmD/PhD/MD) and at least 2 years of MSL experience, with a preference for PAH or cardiopulmonary focus.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific and medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent).
  • 2+ years of MSL experience.
  • Experience in PAH, cardiopulmonary, or other specialty areas preferred.
  • Strong scientific and clinical acumen.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific data into clinical practice.
  • Drive for self-development, collaboration, and action-oriented work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear, informative, fair-balanced and compliant scientific responses to medical information requests from Key Contacts.
  • Serve as medical and subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain scientific relationships with stakeholders while developing understanding of clinical practice related to areas of interest.
  • Integrate scientific data into real-life practice to meet customer needs.
  • Participate in development of a customer-centric tactical engagement plan to support Medical Affairs’ strategies.
  • Maintain scientific knowledge base through continuous learning and awareness of related literature.
  • Collaborate with field Medical colleagues, Commercial colleagues, and broader organization to share Medical insights.
  • Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries from Health Care Providers and investigators, integrating real-world evidence.

You’ll confer with internal stakeholders and build new collaborative relationships with medical and scientific leaders. You’ll contribute cutting-edge clinical and scientific data to help move healthcare forward and positively impact patients.

You will: The Medical Science Liaison will be responsible for providing fair balanced, objective, scientific information and appropriate product education to Key Contacts in compliance with all policies and regulations.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide clear, informative, fair-balanced and compliant scientific responses to medical information requests from Key Contacts.
  • Medical and subject area expert to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain scientific relationships with stakeholders while developing a strong understanding of clinical practice as it relates to areas of interest for our client.
  • Integrate scientific data into real life practice to meet customer/audience needs, adapting interpersonal style to particular situations and people.
  • Participate in the development of a customer‑centric tactical engagement plan to support Medical Affair’s strategies.
  • Maintain scientific and clinical knowledge base through continuous learning and awareness of related scientific literature to enable meaningful scientific exchange.
  • Collaborate with field based Medical colleagues, appropriate Commercial colleagues, and the broader organization to provide scientific expertise and share Medical insights in support of internal and external activities.
  • Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries of Health Care Providers (HCPs)/investigators/health care systems/academic medical centers and treatment team members integrating scientific data including real world evidence in to real life practice to meet customer needs.
Requirements:
  • Advanced scientific and medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of MSL experience
  • Experience in PAH, cardiopulmonary, or other specialty therapeutic areas preferred, with a demonstrated ability to quickly develop disease‑state, clinical, and scientific expertise in new therapeutic areas.
  • Strong scientific & clinical acumen
  • Ability to quickly understand and translate complex scientific data and realize the potential impact of that data on clinical practice and potential research needs
  • The drive for self‑development, the ability to collaborate, and an action‑oriented work ethic

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $180,000-$192,500. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include a company car or car allowance and eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance
