Job summary

LEO Pharma seeks a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Dermatology to engage with healthcare decision makers, researchers, and external experts. You will advance the company’s scientific platform, inform strategy, and drive evidence-based dialogue across a broad scientific community in the greater Chicago territory.

This role requires approximately 70% travel, residence within 45 minutes of a major U.S.

Qualifications

At LEO Pharma, you’ll serve as a trusted scientific partner in Dermatology—engaging experts, driving evidence‑based dialogue, and generating insights that advance patient outcomes.

Your Role:

Our Medical Science Liaisons advance the company’s scientific platform in medical Dermatology and inform company strategy through established dialogues with healthcare decision makers and researchers. This includes engagement with External Experts, HCPs, institutions, payers – and other organizations within the healthcare and scientific community – for research activities, publications, education, consulting, identification of unmet medical needs of patients and other Medical Affairs/R&D initiatives.

This is a field-based role, covering our greater Chicago territory (including IL, WI, MN).

Your Responsibilities:

Field-based scientific and clinical resource, a customer-facing extension of LEO Pharma Inc. Medical Strategy and Scientific Affairs and R&D.

Engage and develop appropriate business relationships with critical stakeholders including but not limited to academic and community-based KOLs and investigators in dermatology.

Provide educational and technical information, including response to unsolicited drug information inquiries.

Establish relationships with Investigators, and P&T Committee Members as well as Dermatology Association/Society elected leadership.

Ensure that key stakeholders are appropriately and compliantly educated on disease state, population health and patient care challenges.

Present and/or moderate advisory boards, and create medical slides for review and approval.

Support unsolicited research requests and facilitate discussion between investigator and R&D.

Identify potential investigators and provide assistance regarding LEO sponsored research.

Engage in competitive intelligence at society meetings.

Engage in sales training as appropriate.

Identify potential acquisition targets and unmet medical needs.

Your Qualifications:

PharmD, Ph.D., MD, DO strongly preferred

1+ years MSL experience

Dermatology or immunology background is a plus

1+ years prior experience working in pharmaceutical industry or related experience with medical/scientific focus

Thorough understanding of Dermatology or Immunology and clinical research, clinical practice experience preferred.

Willingness and ability to travel approximately ~70% of the time, and must reside within 45 minutes of a major U.S. airport.

Understanding of the current pharmaceutical environment and applicable laws and regulations.

Ability to develop and execute a territory clinical plan, with strong ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build productive professional relationships.

Strong presentation skills and highly adaptive, agile, and able to navigate evolving conditions.

Your New Team:

External experts, clinical investigators, key decision makers and other healthcare professionals. Along with business colleagues in commercial teams, per Compliance guidance, for overlapping areas.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $235,000 per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the LEO Pharma range for this position. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
