Baptist Health in Montgomery, AL is seeking a Health Information Specialist to ensure complete and orderly patient records. You will scan information into electronic medical records, file documents, and provide records to clinicians as needed for abnormal lab results, triage calls, or prescriptions.

This role requires a high school diploma, up to two years experience in a medical office, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Two years experience in a medical office preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to use telephone.
• Understanding of HIM.

Responsabilités

• Service the clinical staff by providing a complete and orderly record for all patients.
• Ensure relevant information is scanned into the patient's medical record and filed timely.
• Provide records requested by clinical staff for abnormal lab results, triage calls, and prescriptions.
• Complete and submit live birth and fetal death certificates to the Montgomery County Department of Vital Records.
• Maintain a monthly report of births and deaths and submit as required.
• Maintain professional communication with funeral homes and Department of Vital Records as needed.
