Responsibilities

The Medical Records Technician is responsible for receipt and preparation of all materials related to internal and external correspondence and requests for medical records information. Abstracts and assembles patient discharge records in accordance with established policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of medical records.Performs duties in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient and residential treatment services for youth ages 5-17, as well as inpatient, patial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services for adults ages 18+. Our multidisciplinary treatment teams consist of psychiatrists, licensed therapists and highly specialized nurses who collaborate to develop and implement effective and compassionate treatment plans for our patients. Qualifications

• One (1) to three (3) years in medical records department
• Secretarial background preferred
• Experience in a psychiatric setting preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduate of an approved school of health information science preferred

• Successfully pass a national background check
• Must possess valid Drivers License
