Job summary

MediLodge of Cheboygan is seeking a dedicated Medical Records Clerk to maintain resident medical records, ensure accuracy, and support smooth facility operations.

The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to protect resident privacy while coordinating with care teams.

Minimum education is a high school diploma, with one year of medical records or related experience preferred in a structured environment with established procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year experience in medical records or related record-keeping.”

Responsibilities

• Create files for new admissions and maintain resident medical records.
• Ensure records are complete, properly ordered, and filed.
• Locate, sign out, and deliver records; follow up to ensure return.
• Compile statistics (admissions, discharges, treatments).
• Operate computer to enter data, type reports, and generate documents.
• Restrict access to records to authorized staff only.
• Files/documents in accordance with procedures; maintain archives per policy.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
