Position Overview

This entry-level position handles the processing of all release of information (ROI), specifically medical record requests, ensuring timely, accurate delivery while safeguarding patient privacy and complying with HIPAA and company policies.

Responsibilities
  1. Process patient health information requests according to policies and procedures.
  2. Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information.
  3. Stay knowledgeable about company and facility software.
  4. Follow code of conduct and policies.
  5. Report work issues and fluctuations in volume to management.
  6. Assist with additional duties as needed.
  7. Apply medical privacy regulations to prevent unauthorized disclosures.
  8. Manage and safeguard patient records, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  9. Prepare and assemble new patient charts from paper and electronic sources.
  10. Create digital images of paperwork for electronic records.
  11. Respond to internal and external record requests, retrieving and transmitting records appropriately.
  12. Handle inbound and outbound calls; assist with patient walk-ins and administrative tasks such as faxes, mail, and data entry.
  13. Meet productivity expectations and schedule pickups as required.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to commute between locations and work overtime during peak seasons.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in medical records.
  • Strong data entry skills and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment responding to changing priorities.
Preferred Skills
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Experience in production or metrics-based roles.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to contribute ideas and suggest process improvements.
