Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to support the HIM Director with HPF/MPF workflows, 3M 360 Encompass, and unbilled accounts. You will serve as primary contact when leadership is unavailable and help ensure accurate, timely medical record processing.

The role involves retrieving, scanning, indexing, and archiving records, plus assisting with birth certificate processing and suspension communications as required. A detail‑oriented, patient‑focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Certification program may be required for birth certificate processing.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves discharged medical records and reconciles them to ensure records are accounted for.
• Scans and indexes medical record documents and handles storage/archival of records.
• Assists with physician suspensions by preparing lists and notices as needed.
• Serves as the primary contact when the HIM Director or Coordinator is unavailable.
• Maintains birth information documentation and supports birth certificate processing.
