The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working in electronic health record systems, and careful when handling confidential information.
Review patient records for completeness, accuracy, and proper organization.
Enter, update, scan, index, and retrieve information in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Identify missing or inconsistent documentation and follow established procedures to resolve discrepancies.
Respond to authorized requests for records in accordance with hospital procedures and applicable privacy requirements.
Maintain accurate records of document requests, releases, and completed work.
Work with clinical and administrative teams to locate records and support timely documentation.
Protect patient confidentiality and follow the hospital’s information security policies.
Meet established standards for accuracy, productivity, and turnaround time.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in medical records, health information management, patient registration, or a comparable healthcare administrative role.
Experience entering, reviewing, or maintaining records in an EHR or similar electronic system.
