Job summary

Clarion Psychiatric Center provides inpatient psychiatric services and supports a 112-bed inpatient program with multiple units. This role supports the Medical Records Department by maintaining accurate health records, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and efficiently retrieving records for providers and staff.

Qualifications include a Medical Coding course completion and CPC certification upon completion, with at least three years in health information management and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DSM-V and ICD-10-CM coding and ability to abstract charts.
• Completion of Medical Coding course required; CPC certification upon completion.
• Experience in Health Information Management or Medical Records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage, organize, and maintain patient health records with accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility.
• Retrieve medical records for Providers, Patients, External sources and Staff.
• Ensure all records comply with HIPAA and other federal regulations, maintaining confidentiality and security of patient information.
• Closure of medical records to include all required forms, signatures, etc.
