Northampton Post Acute is seeking a Medical Records Director to lead the facility’s medical records with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance. The role partners with nursing and clinical teams to ensure timely documentation and audit readiness.

This full-time position offers daily pay and an opportunity to improve records systems, implement efficient filing, and train staff on HIPAA and long-term care documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered active LPN license in the state of Pennsylvania.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
• Prior medical records experience required; supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong data entry and computer skills with exceptional attention to accuracy and detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, medical records confidentiality, and long-term care documentation requirements.
• Strong customer service skills when interacting with residents, families, healthcare providers, and facility staff.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive resident information professionally.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the collection, organization, maintenance, and filing of resident medical records.
• Ensure medical records are complete, accurate, current, and compliant with policies and regulations.
• Manage distribution and release of medical records to authorized individuals.
• Maintain and distribute medical charts to staff.
• Monitor medical records for completeness and compliance.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all records.
• Develop and maintain record-tracking and data-entry systems.
• Coordinate and support medical records audits and inspections.
• Retrieve and organize documentation for regulatory bodies and auditors.
• Monitor processes and identify improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
• Train staff on records procedures and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely documentation.
