Job summary

The Center for GI Health is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to manage patient records in compliance with regulatory standards. You will prepare charts, sort and scan documents into EMR systems, and fulfill various record requests with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities include handling chart preparation, processing requests from insurers and attorneys, obtaining notes and results, and answering calls for the records department. No supervisory duties are noted.

  • Experience with EMR systems is required.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare charts for upcoming appointments.
  • Sort, scan, and file all paper medical documents into appropriate EMR categories.
  • Document and fulfill patient medical record copy requests.
  • Fulfill medical records requests from insurance companies and attorneys.
  • Obtain progress notes, test results, hospital records, and other correspondence as requested by providers.
  • Answer incoming phone calls for the medical records department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Manager, Site Supervisor, or Team Lead.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position, with an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday. No weekends are required.
