Job summary

Training will begin onsite with potential remote options for certain tasks. The ideal candidate will have facility or physician coding experience, strong independent judgment, and familiarity with CalAIM and Medi-Cal policies.

Qualifications

• ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT/HCPCS coding proficiency.
• Experience with coding audits and physician education on coding issues.
• Familiarity with CalAIM and Medi-Cal policy frameworks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign or verify ICD-10/ICD-10-CM diagnoses and CPT procedures.
• Apply APC, HCC, CCIs and modifiers in coding decisions.
• Review records to determine appropriate coding and prepare abstracts.
• Enter coded data and collaborate to resolve discrepancies.
• Support efforts to reduce back-end billing errors and ensure timely coding.
