This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.

Job Overview

Medical Records Coder II - Vendor Support - HB Edits

This is a progressive coder/auditor position with opportunities for development and growth. The role is accountable for vendor education and ensuring coding accuracy for outsourced services. The ideal candidate has experience in coding, billing, denials, payer guidelines, and possesses strong analytical skills. Certification is required, with additional auditing certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Quality Control (40%)
    • Review vendor work for errors and coding patterns
    • Assess quality and identify opportunities for system and workflow improvements
    • Provide feedback and education to vendors
    • Monitor QC results
    • Support department with coding process analysis
  2. Vendor Education (30%)
    • Design and implement strategies to improve vendor quality and productivity
    • Track and report on vendor performance trends
  3. Coding (30%)
    • Perform coding on various WQs, research issues, and maintain skills through ongoing education
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in coding and/or auditing
  • Certifications: CPC, CPC-P, CCS, CCS-P, CPMA
  • Skills: Effective communication, detail-oriented, analytical, computer literacy
