Haven Health Tucson is seeking a Medical Records Assistant to support the medical records manager in maintaining compliant and complete resident records. The role partners with nursing to safeguard PHI and ensure accurate documentation in accordance with HIPAA and company policy.

The position involves registering residents, maintaining orderly health records, handling transfers, obtaining signatures, and processing orders while monitoring MDS timelines. English proficiency is required.

Qualifikationen

• Fingerprinting clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.
• Background screening and reference checks as required.
• Tuberculosis testing and health screening conducted after hire.
• Ability to move, lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Must speak, read, write and understand English.

Aufgaben

• Register residents in medical records, logs and files including admissions and discharge logs and clinical software.
• Maintain a filing system for health records meeting facility needs and manage overflow for current and discharged residents.
• Confirm transfer and admission paperwork is complete and contact transferring entities for additional info.
• Request and obtain history and physicals with original signatures.
• Process telephone orders for mailing; ensure physician sign-off and dating before updating records.
• Review clinical software for upcoming MDS assessments and ensure timely completion.
