Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a full-time Medical Records Clerk at Dixon Correctional Center in Dixon, Illinois. The role focuses on maintaining offender health records, retrieving records for appointments, and initiating records for new intakes.

The position operates Tuesday through Saturday, 8am–4pm, with a starting pay rate of $22.77 per hour. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with RHIA/RHIT and CPR/BLS certifications preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Education as stated: High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree.
• Certifications preferred: RHIA or RHIT, CPR/BLS.
• Experience with medical records is required or preferred.
• Completion of a medical terminology course is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain offender health records and retrieve records for appointments.
• File offender health data and initiate records for new or transferred intakes.
• Review records for completeness and prepare reports as needed.

We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Records Clerk to join our team at Dixon Correctional Center located in Dixon, Illinois.

The Medical Records Clerk maintains offender health records, retrieves health records for scheduled appointments, files offender health data, initiates records for new or transferred intakes. They review health records for completeness, files records as required, prepares reports as needed and more.

Schedule

Tuesday through Saturday 8a-4p

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
• Certification by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred but not required
• Prior experience with medical records and services
• Completion of a medical terminology course preferred
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
