Job summary

Centurion Health seeks a PRN Medical Records Clerk at the Illinois River Correctional Center in Canton, IL. You will maintain offender health records, retrieve documents for appointments, and process new intake records.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR/BLS certification, and the ability to obtain security clearance. Prior medical records experience is preferred, with benefits including health coverage and retirement plans.

Qualifications

We are currently seeking a PRN Medical Records Clerk to join our team at IL River Correctional Center located in Canton, Illinois.

The Medical Records Clerk maintains offender health records, retrieves health records for scheduled appointments, files offender health data, initiates records for new or transferred intakes. They review health records for completeness, files records as required, prepares reports as needed and more.

Hourly pay rate of $20.49 Per hour + $4/hr. PRN differential

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
• Certification by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred but not required
• Prior experience with medical records and services
• Completion of a medical terminology course preferred
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
