Medix Infusion is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Records Reimbursement Specialist to join our team. In this crucial administrative role, you will manage a high volume of intake requests and focus on reimbursement documentation, primarily related to infusion services. Experience with infusion collections, insurance/payer knowledge, and medical records review (specifically infusion-related) is essential. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to payor guidelines to support timely and complete reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and prioritize a high volume of incoming referrals and faxed intake documents.
  • Review and route hard copy and electronic documents to appropriate departments.
  • Create and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system.
  • Scan, upload, and organize patient documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Review medical records with a focus on infusion services and documentation requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and assist with reimbursement efforts.
  • Collaborate with billing, collections, and clinical teams to resolve documentation or billing issues.
  • Monitor and complete intake follow-up tasks to ensure timely care and payment.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions.
  • Use Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel for daily communication and documentation.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned by the department lead.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in a healthcare setting, with a strong background in infusion collections and payer requirements.
  • Insurance/payer knowledge and familiarity with payer-specific documentation guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of medical records and reimbursement processes, particularly related to infusion therapy.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) or Pharmacy Technician (PhT) experience or education preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and patient intake processes is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Candidates will be required to complete a Predictive Index Assessment as part of the recruitment process.
