Job summary

Golden State Dermatology seeks a friendly front desk associate in San Ramon to welcome patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and assist with check-in/check-out.

You will also educate patients on skincare products and help maintain accurate records, ensuring a smooth, welcoming visit. Experience with EMR systems is preferred, and travel between San Ramon, Pleasanton, and Livermore clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• Customer service mindset focused on patient experience.
• Experience in dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics.
• Knowledge of insurance carriers (Medicare, commercial, HMO).
• Experience with EMR software such as EClinicalWorks or EMA.

Responsibilities

• warmly welcoming patients, assisting with check-in/check-out, verifying insurance coverage, handling phone inquiries, and maintaining patient records.
• Managing the appointment schedule: auditing for future appointments, confirming attendance, collecting information, contacting patients on waiting lists for earlier slots.
• Providing product education to patients and staff, and selling skincare products.
• Handling multitasking to ensure duties are completed promptly; other duties may be assigned by the Practice Manager.
• Striving to provide exceptional service so patients feel welcome and well-cared-for during their visit.

Salary Range: $21.00 - $25.00 Hourly

Golden State Dermatology is a physician‑led and owned dermatology group rapidly expanding across California, with over 37 locations. We are a leading medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology group specializing in skin, hair, and nail conditions, Mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of skin cancer, surgical and non‑surgical cosmetic skincare, anti‑aging, body contouring, and plastic surgery.

Travel Required between San Ramon, Pleasanton and Livermore clinics.

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcoming patients, assisting with check‑in and check‑out procedures, verifying insurance coverage and eligibility, handling phone inquiries, and maintaining patient records.
• Managing the appointment schedule: auditing for future appointments, confirming attendance, collecting necessary information before the appointment (insurance details and intake questions). When schedule openings arise, contacting patients on waiting lists or with future appointments to offer earlier slots and filling the soonest available appointments for providers.
• Providing product education to patients and staff, and selling available skincare products.
• Handling multitasking and task management to ensure all responsibilities are completed promptly; additional duties may be assigned by the Practice Manager.
• Striving to provide exceptional service so patients feel welcome, comfortable, and well‑cared for during their visit.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills or a patient‑centered mindset
• Previous dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics experience
• Knowledgeable with insurance carriers (e.g., Medicare, commercial, HMO)
• Experience with EClinicalWorks, EMA, or other EMR software
