Position Overview

This is a PRN position located in our MRI Center in Fairfax, VA. The needs include evenings and weekends.

Who you are:

As a Medical Receptionist for Fairfax Radiology Centers (FRC), you are the first impression for our patients and their families as they arrive at our Imaging Center. You are empathetic, kind, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and understand the importance of a smile and a kind word when registering patients.

What you will do:
  1. Greet patients, obtain referrals, and indicate their arrival.
  2. Register patients accurately, efficiently, and professionally to ensure data integrity, facilitate timely claims processing, and collect patient liabilities at the point of service.
  3. Create accurate and complete accounts in the information system by obtaining and verifying all necessary information.
  4. Apply financial screening guidelines and payer requirements to secure financially collectible patient accounts.
  5. Schedule and register patients for any same-day procedures using the appropriate guidelines for the modality.
  6. Answer all customer phone calls.
What you bring:
  • 1+ years of experience in a medical office or hospital patient access, highly preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional computer aptitude and ability to use multiple systems, with proficiency in electronic systems
