The
Medical Receptionist provides reception and clerical services under the supervision of the practice manager and physicians. Responsibilities include billing, collections, referrals, appointments, patient contact, and secretarial duties. Must be willing to travel within 30 minutes of home and float to various locations.
This is a busy primary care practice.Schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday coverage.
There are 13 staff members, including 3 MDs and 3 NPs.
- Medical experience preferred
ResponsibilitiesA typical day includes:
- Receiving and directing communication courteously, adhering to HIPAA and office policies.
- Greeting patients and visitors warmly, making them feel welcome.
- Assisting with patient sign-in and responding promptly to needs.
- Supporting financial tasks like verifying insurance, preparing deposits, and handling payments.
- Monitoring office supplies and notifying management when restocking is needed.
- Managing patient check-in and check-out processes accurately and courteously.
- Promoting patient satisfaction through excellent service.
- Maintaining organized records and files.
- Preparing new patient folders and retrieving records as per protocol.
- Adapting work schedule to practice needs, including extra hours and cross-covering.
- Serving as a pre-loader for the EMR system.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Adhering to organizational standards of behavior.
QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and work well in a team with a patient-focused attitude.
- Willing to travel to various locations.
Preferred qualifications include prior medical office experience and Epic system familiarity.
Certifications such as CPR are also preferred.
