Golden Bear Physical Therapy is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist for our Salinas location. The role involves front desk duties, scheduling, and patient communication in a busy outpatient setting.

Bilingual English/Spanish is required, with a 20-hour weekly schedule (Fridays 9:00am–5:30pm and Mon/Tue/Wed 4 hours daily). We value friendly, professional interactions with patients and staff, compliance with HIPAA, and accurate data entry using Raintree PMS and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and maintain a warm, welcoming front desk presence.
• Answer phone calls, greet patients, and manage messages with timely follow-up.
• Schedule initial evaluations and follow-up visits per care plan.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information.
• Coordinate with clinical staff and front office leadership as needed.

Starting Hourly: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on Medical Receptionist experience (Front office/Medical Receptionist experience in a physical therapy office is a plus)

Currently, we are looking for a part time Medical Receptionist for our Salinas location. Schedule: 20 hours per week. Fridays 9:00am - 5:30pm & Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday for 4 hours each day.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTITES

• Greets warmly and maintains a friendly, welcoming relationship with all patient care coordinators, and any external connections.
• Clearly communicates with all staff, including clinical and corporate employees, in a friendly and courteous manner
• Responsible for answering phones and greeting patients with the utmost professionalism and care in a timely manner and returning VMs same day received. Will maintain higher than 85% answer call rate.
• Participates in and adheres to, as required, the HIPAA Policies and Procedures of Therapy Partner Group
• Escalates patient issues and concerns, as needed, to local Clinical leadership and Regional Front Office management.
• Scheduling patient’s initial evaluations and follow up visits through plan of care

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office; Raintree PMS experience is a +Plus
• Possess strong relationship building and customer service skills
• Ability to maintain confidential documents
• Ability to demonstrate active listening by asking clarifying questions, identify and share relevant information and solicit feedback from others and give and receives feedback objectively.

• Ability to multi-task responsibilities while maintaining a positive and friendly atmosphere with the patients near by

Education and Experience

Education

High School diploma or equivalent (Must be 18+)

Experience

Practice Management System knowledge, patient scheduling capabilities and insurance plan understanding.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Requires prolonged sitting, some walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, mouse, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and present reports.
