Position Purpose: The Business Services Representative – Adult Medicine provides essential front-desk support in a busy outpatient practice focused on adult and geriatric care. Responsibilities include greeting patients, managing check-in/check-out, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting copays, and handling referrals and authorizations. Also assists with chart preparation, incoming calls, and maintaining accurate patient records. Ideal for someone who is compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a welcoming and efficient experience for every patient.

What You Will Do:

  1. Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner, identifying themselves and their department.
  2. Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
  3. Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.
  4. Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols to maximize provider productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred. Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred.
  3. Excellent keyboard skills. Requires proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment and Microsoft Office products. Accuracy and dependability required.
