Job summary

Northwest Human Services in Salem seeks a Medical Receptionist to warmly welcome patients, keep the lobby running smoothly, and support front-desk operations in a fast-paced clinic. You will verify insurance, schedule appointments, and help patients navigate the portal, kiosk, and check-in process while maintaining HIPAA privacy and compassionate service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to interact effectively, professionally, and courteously with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Strong computer and typing skills.

Responsibilities

Medical Receptionist

Location: West Salem Clinic | 1233 Edgewater St NW Salem, OR

Position Status: Non-Exempt | Monday - Friday with rotating Saturdays

  • Welcome patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
  • Serve as a lobby concierge, keeping patients informed about waiting times and delays.

  • Accurately enter and update demographic and insurance information.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Handle payments, records, and other sensitive information with accuracy and discretion.

What You'll Bring
Required Qualification
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to interact effectively, professionally, and courteously with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Strong computer and typing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
  • Previous medical office, healthcare, customer service, or reception experience.
