Summary

The Medical Receptionist provides exceptional customer service to patients and visitors in a patient‑centered medical home (PCMH). The role supports front‑office responsibilities, assists patients in need of assistance, and demonstrates NHC’s mission.

Essential Job Duties

• Welcomes patients and visitors in‑person or virtually and answers inquiries with a friendly demeanor and professionalism.
• Gathers visit reason, accurately schedules and confirms in‑person and virtual appointments, and enters patients’ information into EPIC.
• Processes co‑payments and completes daily deposit reconciliation and assists with bank runs.
• Scrubs patient charts daily.
• Confirms patients’ insurance eligibility and coverage information.
• Scans and indexes documentation into medical records according to NHC policies and procedures.
• Receives, documents, and routes messages to appropriate clinical staff.
• Assists in new employee training on specific tasks, as needed.
