Golden State Dermatology is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our physician-led dermatology group in California. You will warmly welcome patients, assist with check-in/check-out, verify insurance eligibility, answer calls, and maintain accurate patient records.

You will manage appointment schedules, audit for future bookings, confirm attendance, and collect necessary information for visits. The role includes offering skincare product education and sales, multitasking across front desk

Qualifications

• Previous Dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics experience.
• Knowledgeable with insurance carriers (e.g., Medicare, commercial, HMO).
• Familiarity with EMR software (EClinicalWorks, EMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in/out patients courteously.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Handle phone inquiries and maintain patient records.
• Manage appointment scheduling, audit future appointments, confirm attendance, and collect required information.
• Reach out to patients on waiting lists to fill early slots with open provider availability.
• Provide product education and sell skincare products to patients.

Golden State Dermatology is a physician-led and owned dermatology group rapidly expanding across California, with over 37 locations. We are a leading medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology group specializing in skin, hair, and nail conditions, Mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of skin cancer, surgical and non-surgical cosmetic skincare, anti-aging, body contouring, and plastic surgery.As a Medical Receptionist at Golden State Dermatology, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk and providing exceptional service to our patients.Your day will involve warmly welcoming patients, assisting with check-in and check-out procedures, verifying patients' insurance coverage and eligibility, handling phone inquiries, and maintaining patient records.Managing the appointment schedule will be an important aspect of your day. This includes auditing for future appointments, confirming attendance, and collecting necessary information before the appointment (such as insurance details and intake questions). In case of any schedule openings, you will contact patients on waiting lists or with future appointments to offer earlier slots, with a focus on filling the soonest available appointments for providers with open slots.Providing product education to patients and staff, and selling skincare products that are available for purchase.This role will involve a significant amount of multitasking and task management to ensure that all responsibilities are completed promptly. The Practice Manager may assign additional job duties based on the practice's needs.Above all, you'll strive to provide exceptional service to our patients, making them feel welcome, comfortable, and well-cared for during their visit.
