Job summary
UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Johnstown, PA, seeks a medical physicist to join the radiation oncology team under Dr. Saiful Huq. Requires MS or PhD in Physics/Medical Physics; ABR/ABMP preferred but not required; must meet qualified expert criteria per NRC/PA regulators.
Remote work possible 1–2 days from home within commuting distance of Johnstown. Join a network of 30+ medical physicists, with opportunities to support QA, dosimetry, therapy delivery, and advanced techniques across the UPMC
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Physics or Medical Physics.
- ABR/ABMP certification preferred but not required.
- Must meet qualified expert criteria defined by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or Pennsylvania State regulatory agency.
Responsibilities
- Provide QA testing of radiotherapy equipment and treatment delivery processes.
- Perform dosimetric calibration of radiation therapy equipment.
- Maintain compliance with PA radiation safety and licensing regulations.
- Provide routine clinical support and implement 4DCT and gated radiation therapy.
- Collaborate within the UPMC Medical Physics Division network.
