Job Summary: | We are seeking a Medical Physicist Assistant to join our team of eight imaging medical physicists. The Division of Radiological Sciences is within the Department of Radiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. We support clinical imaging equipment at Children's Hospital of Colorado, University of Colorado Hospital, and other University of Colorado Health facilities in the greater Denver metro area. Our work includes testing imaging equipment, developing policies and procedures for imaging and radiation safety, ensuring compliance with accreditation bodies and state and federal agencies, and performing cutting-edge imaging research. We are seeking to recruit an individual with a general science background and experience working in a clinical hospital setting who can assist our medical physicists in their daily duties. This would include testing of ultrasound and nuclear medicine equipment and radiologist workstation monitors, tracking regulatory compliance, and analyzing physics test data. Primary coverage will be at the University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz campus, but travel to facilities across the Denver Metro area will occasionally be required. Key Responsibilities: Work with radiation-producing equipment and radioactive materials Performance of Quality Control tests for radiography (X-ray), ultrasound, MRI medical imaging equipment, and nuclear medicine hot lab equipment Performance of Quality Control testing of radiologist workstation displays Tracking Quality Control data for radiologist workstation displays Tabulating and analyzing quality control test data acquired by medical physicists Maintaining records of medical physicist test reports Documentation of off-site work performed by group members All work will be under the general supervision of a qualified medical physicist. |

Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $56,059 to $60,513. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
