NYU Langone Health in New York, NY seeks an experienced Medical Physicist to work independently under the Director of Radiation Safety, applying physics principles to ensure correct dose and placement of radiation during procedures while protecting patients and staff.
The role includes analysis of nuclear medicine equipment, radionuclide calibration, and organ dose calculations, with responsibilities spanning QA testing, regulatory compliance, and participation in accreditation processes.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Medical Physicist. In this mid‑level position, the Medical Physicist works independently and reports to the Director of Radiation Safety. The role involves applying accepted principles and protocols of physics in a clinical setting to ensure the correct quality, quantity, and placement of radiation during radiological procedures, protecting patients and others from harmful or misapplied radiation.
Analyze and interpret the performance of measurements associated with nuclear medicine imaging equipment, oversee radionuclide calibration equipment, and calculate and interpret patient organ doses in accordance with accepted radiation safety principles. Ensure compliance with all NRC and New York City and New York State Health Code requirements. Provide services at various assigned locations.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with New York state law on salary transparency in job advertisements. The salary range for this role is $121,792.21 to $210,091.64 annually, depending on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other compensation or benefits.
