Foundation Health Partners in Fairbanks, Alaska is seeking a Medical Physicist to join our radiation oncology team. You will provide clinical physics support, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with radiologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to deliver safe, effective cancer care.

The position offers a competitive hourly rate, a retention bonus of $20,000, relocation assistance up to $7,500, 90 days temporary housing, and other benefits, with full-time, Monday–Friday shifts.

Qualifications

• Master's in medical physics or related field required.
• Board certified or board eligible by the ABR in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
• Typically 2+ years of clinical experience in a radiation therapy setting.
• Proficiency with radiation therapy equipment and software; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, QA, and routine testing of radiation therapy equipment (linear accelerators, CT simulators, brachytherapy).
• Review and approve complex radiation treatment plans with physicians and dosimetrists.
• Conduct patient-specific QA for IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS, and brachytherapy cases.
• Complete chart reviews to ensure treatment accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with commissioning and implementation of new equipment and techniques.
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety regulations and documentation.
• Serve as a technical resource for shielding evaluations and exposure tracking.
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff and participate in case reviews.
• Train residents, students, and staff on physics principles and protocols.
• Stay current with advances in medical physics and contribute to QA programs.

Pay & Benefits:

• Compensation: $101.98 - $163.16 hourly wage based on experience and education

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, quality assurance, and routine testing of radiation therapy equipment including linear accelerators, CT simulators, and brachytherapy systems.
• Review and approve complex radiation treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and dosimetrists, ensuring dose accuracy and patient safety.
• Conduct patient-specific quality assurance checks for IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS, and brachytherapy cases.
• Complete initial, weekly, and final chart reviews to ensure treatment plan accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with commissioning, acceptance testing, and implementation of new equipment, software, and treatment techniques.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with federal, state, and institutional radiation safety regulations, including documentation and audits.
• Serve as a technical resource for radiation safety, shielding evaluations, and exposure monitoring.
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff and participate in case reviews, multidisciplinary meetings, and department initiatives.
• Train and support residents, students, and clinical staff on physics principles, equipment use, and treatment protocols.
• Stay current with advances in medical physics and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s in medical physics, physics, or related field, required.
• Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Medical Physics, required.
• Knowledge typically obtained with two (2) or more years of clinical experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with radiation therapy equipment and software.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
