Job description

A large and growing hospital in Fairbanks, AK is currently seeking a permanent hire (staff) Medical Physicist to join their team full-time. Check out the details below.

• Pay: $101.98 - $163.16 hourly wage based on experience and education
• Retention Bonus: $20,000 Retention Bonus

Responsibilities

• Review and approve complex radiation treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and dosimetrists, ensuring dose accuracy and patient safety.
• Conduct patient-specific quality assurance checks for IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS, and brachytherapy cases.
• Assist with commissioning, acceptance testing, and implementation of new equipment, software, and treatment techniques.
• Serve as a technical resource for radiation safety, shielding evaluations, and exposure monitoring.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s in medical physics, physics, or related field, Board certification by ABR in Therapeutic Medical Physics, and 2 years of experience.
• Board certified or board eligible by the ABR in Therapeutic Medical Physics, required. Knowledge typically obtained with 2 or more years of clinical experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with radiation therapy equipment and software.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment.
