Radiation Oncology Physicist

$10,000 sign-on bonus

Position Purpose:

The Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist to join our ACR-accredited Radiation Oncology team, which includes 6 Radiation Oncologists, 4 Medical Physicists, 4 Medical Dosimetrists, and 16 Radiation Therapists across three campuses. The physics staff collaborate on special projects and support each other across campuses. Candidates must have an M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical Physics and certification from the American Board of Radiology (or equivalent), or complete certification within 3 years of hire (per ABR standards).

Department Equipment and Software:

The departments at Mount Carmel Grove City, East, and St. Ann's are equipped with 3 Varian TrueBeams, 1 CyberKnife S7, Canon Large Bore CT Simulators with Respiratory Gating, and treatment planning software including Eclipse, Oncentra, Accuray Precision, MIM, and Velocity. The Grove City campus hosts the HDR program with an Elekta Flexitron afterloader. The system uses a single ARIA database for cross-coverage. Other procedures include 3D, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, HyperARC, 4DCT, DIBH, OSMS, and HDR.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and execute the Radiation Oncology Quality Assurance program
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety policies, guidelines, and regulations
  • Perform quality control checks and oversee treatment plan accuracy
  • Assist with acquisition and evaluation of new equipment
  • Develop and implement new treatment techniques
  • Participate in Clinical Trials
  • Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and Therapists to ensure safe and effective patient treatment
