Description:
The Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist to join our ACR-accredited Radiation Oncology team, which includes 6 Radiation Oncologists, 4 Medical Physicists, 4 Medical Dosimetrists, and 16 Radiation Therapists across three campuses. The physics staff collaborate on special projects and assist each other as needed. Candidates must have an M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical Physics and ABR certification (or equivalent), or complete certification within 3 years of hire.
The departments are equipped with advanced technology including Varian TrueBeams, CyberKnife S7, Canon Large Bore CT Simulator with Respiratory Gating, and treatment planning software such as Eclipse, Oncentra, Accuray Precision, MIM, and Velocity. The Grove City campus hosts the HDR program with an Elekta Flexitron afterloader. Our system supports various procedures including 3D, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, HyperARC, 4DCT, DIBH, OSMS, and HDR.
Responsibilities include maintaining the Radiation Oncology Quality Assurance program, ensuring radiation safety compliance, providing quality control checks, evaluating new equipment, developing treatment techniques, participating in clinical trials, and collaborating with the care team to ensure safe and effective patient treatment.
