Job summary

AVP SEES Group in Knoxville, TN seeks a medically focused Optometrist to join a referral-driven model serving ophthalmologists and community optometrists.

You will manage medical eye diseases, contribute to pre- and post-operative care, and collaborate across a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

This role emphasizes clinical judgment, professional presence in the community, and a commitment to advancing eye care in the Southeast.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology Residency program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.
• Active Tennessee medical license or ability to obtain licensure.
• DEA registration and authority to prescribe medications.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnosis and treatment of ophthalmic diseases.
• Strong clinical and surgical judgment with a patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with optometrists, ophthalmologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical eye care within a referral-driven model.
• Pre-operative evaluation and post-operative management for cataract and refractive surgery.
• Manage glaucoma and ocular surface disease with escalation as needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons and referring optometrists to support shared care.
• Engage in community engagement and professional presence to build reputation.
