Job summary

QualDerm Partners LLC is seeking a Mohs Histotechnician to support Mohs micrographic surgery procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment in Hendersonville, TN. The role emphasizes precision in histology, quality control, and collaboration with surgical teams.

The candidate will prepare frozen sections, embed tissues, perform stains, and maintain thorough documentation while adhering to CLIA standards. Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology and ASCP HTL certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
• ASCP HTL certification preferred.
• Experience in a histology or Mohs laboratory preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cut frozen sections of tissue specimens utilizing Mohs surgical techniques.
• Process and embed tissue samples accurately and efficiently for histopathological examination.
• Perform staining techniques for slide preparation and ensure quality control measures are met.
• Document all steps and processes associated with specimen processing and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety and regulatory standards as outlined by CLIA.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to support uninterrupted workflow.
• Collaborate with the surgical and clinical teams to ensure a seamless operation during Mohs procedures.
• Provide guidance and support to other laboratory staff as necessary.
• Engage in continuous education and training to improve histotechnical skills and knowledge.
• Other related duties as assigned by the laboratory supervisor or team lead.

Purpose:

The Mohs Histotechnician will be responsible for supporting Mohs micrographic surgery procedures by providing high-quality histological services within a dynamic clinical environment. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced atmosphere.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
• Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Histotechnologist (HTL) is preferred.
• Prior experience within a histology or Mohs laboratory is strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and patients.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
